Education He completed his Diplomate of the National Board postgraduate training and long term fellowship training in the subspeciality of glaucoma from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore.
Experience He has a special interest in glaucoma diagnostics even having experience with the latest diagnostic modalities such as the HRT and HEP. He has ample experience in glaucoma laser procedures such as iridotomy, iridoplasty, selective laser trabeculoplasty, and diode cyclophotocoagulation. Surgically he is well versed with topical cataract phacoemulsification, trabeculectomy glaucoma surgeries, congenital glaucoma surgeries as well as glaucoma valve surgeries.
Expertise Cataract Surgery - Dr Panikkar has perfomed a significant number of both plain cataract surgeries and combined cataract surgeries. Glaucoma Surgery - Has performed all types of glaucoma surgeries both traditional and using the latest available valves.
